A group from ETEC will be visiting TVA’s Watts Bar Nuclear Station on Thursday, October 2, 2014. Space is limited to 20 participants. The bus will leave the UT Outreach Center at 7:45 a.m. (please arrive at 7:30 a.m.) and will return around 2:15 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

Below are TVA’s requirements regarding dress and security. If you are interested in attending, please fill out and submit the form below.

  • Photo identification, such as a driver’s license, is required.

  • Unless cleared in advance, no photography or videotaping is permitted.

  • No electronic devices, such as cell phones, are permitted on the tour.

  • Necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided to all visitors and must be worn in operating plant areas, or as directed by your tour guide.

  • Slacks and shirts with short or long sleeves are required.  No skirts, dresses, shorts, or sleeveless shirts will be permitted. If ties are worn, they must be tucked in the shirt or removed prior to entering a plant operating area. Cotton or other natural fabrics are recommended for comfort, as some plant areas have higher temperatures.

  • Minimum acceptable footwear is sturdy leather or man-made leather shoes or boots that fully cover the entire foot and have a defined heel. The following footwear SHALL NOT be worn while on the Watts Bar site: tennis shoes (including leather tennis shoes), shoes with mesh-type material, sandals, shoes without a back, high heel shoes (heels greater than 1½ inches high), athletic shoes, suede boots/shoes, deck shoes or similar types.  Visitors without acceptable footwear may be denied access to the facility.
