From Spectra Tech:
Spectra Tech is proud to be named the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Small Business of the Year for 2021. The award, issued by the DOE Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), recognizes the “creative, unique, and extraordinary performance of a small business which has significantly and directly impacted core DOE mission objectives and requirements.”
This award was given in recognition of Spectra Tech’s performance as the small business prime contractor for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Licensed Facilities contract. In response to receiving the award, Spectra Tech’s President Dr. Loong Yong stated, “We are honored and very appreciative of this special recognition by DOE. Many thanks to all our employees, clients, teaming partners, and subcontractors whose hard work and dedication to excellence made it possible for us to win this important award.”
According to the OSDBU announcement, Spectra Tech “is an exemplary partner who possesses the ability to adapt and leave programs better than they inherited.” Spectra Tech also “provided side-by-side cost comparison of the cost to DOE-ID under multiple scenarios surrounding COVID-19. DOE-ID was able to make an informed decision and was able to consider cost a factor.”
