On May 29-31, 2018, as Oak Ridge celebrates its 75th Anniversary, we will welcome leaders from across the region to our community for the annual Tennessee Valley Corridor (TVC) Summit at the CNS Y-12 New Hope Center.  I am pleased to host this year’s Summit in cooperation with our congressman, Rep. Chuck Fleischmann.  In addition to our city’s anniversary, we will also celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the Tennessee Valley Authority and the 50th Anniversary of the NASA Apollo 8 mission—all of which were vital to the success of our region and our nation.

We hope you plan to attend the Summit and will consider becoming a sponsor.

The theme of the 2018 Summit is, The TVC: Connecting People, Ideas & Opportunities.

There will be five major sessions focusing on:

  • Clean Energy – Reviving America’s Nuclear Renaissance
  • Advanced Manufacturing – Cars to Spacecraft – Building the Future
  • America’s National Security – TVC Leadership Making a Global Impact
  • Meeting the Cyber Challenge – Strategies for Winning our Newest War
  • The 21st Century Workforce – New Models for Life-Long Learning

We will kick off the Summit with an opening reception the evening of May 29 to preview the new American Museum of Science and Energy at Main Street Oak Ridge, our new retail center. The City of Oak Ridge is excited to welcome regional academic, business, government and community leaders from Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, Virginia and North Carolina to our community.  The TVC has already started lining up great speakers and panelists.

Information is available about how you can get involved through sponsoring this event. Reach out to Jennifer Wiggins with questions, and/or visit www.TennValleyCorridor.org for more details.

See you at the Summit.

Sincerely,

Warren L. Gooch
