Image result for roger jarrellRoger Jarrell, former senior advisor to the Secretary of Energy for Environmental Management (EM), has joined URS | CH2M Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR). He will be serving as UCOR’s Government and Stakeholder Relations Interface. In this role, he will communicate and coordinate with federal, state, and local officials on matters related to UCOR’s cleanup contract with the Department of Energy (DOE). He will also be involved in consolidating and managing UCOR’s  workforce development efforts.

In his previous position with the DOE, Roger served as EM’s key interface with the Office of the Secretary and other senior Administration leadership. He previously served as a legislative aide, political  consultant, and an elected Republican Party official in Lexington, Virginia. After receiving his Juris Doctor Degree from
Washington and Lee University in 2004, he worked as a civil litigator in energy law and commercial and corporate
litigation.

“We are excited about bringing someone with Roger’s insight and experience to UCOR,” said Ken Rueter, UCOR President and Project Manager. “He will be a significant asset during our final stretch of our cleanup contract to
help ensure we proactively address issues that may arise and develop strategies to ensure we finish strong as we wrap up our cleanup work with DOE.”

UCOR is DOE’s cleanup contractor for East Tennessee Technology Park (the former Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant) in Oak Ridge as well as other select sites on its Oak Ridge Reservation. UCOR is assisting DOE in converting the former uranium enrichment plant into a private sector industrial park, with cleanup to be completed by 2020.
