Omega Consultants, Inc. has been awarded a Four-Year Engineering Design Services Basic Ordering Agreement from UT-Battelle in support of the ITER Project.
OAK RIDGE – Omega Consultants, Inc. announced that it has been awarded a Four-Year Engineering Design Services Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) from UT-Battelle in support of the ITER Project. “Omega is very excited to be a part of such an innovative and globally important project”, said Mr. Buzz Patrick, Omega’s Chief Operating Officer and General Manager.
The ITER Project is an international collaboration to construct and operate a full-scale experimental device that aims to demonstrate the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion energy. Omega Designers and Engineers will be providing the US ITER Project Office and the ORNL Fusion Energy Division staff with professional assistance in the engineering, design, and analysis of ITER and other fusion-related projects. Omega has promoted Mr. Tom Tison to Sr. Project Manager to directly support the project, and Omega’s project employees. Mr. Tison has 35 years experience providing project management and engineering support on a wide range of projects for the Department of Energy (DOE) and the Department of Defense (DOD). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and an MBA in Research and Development Management. “Based upon Tom’s experience and track record throughout the DOE Complex, we are confident that he is the right person to lead this effort,” stated Patrick.
