This merger expands ORNL FCU’s community charter to include Meigs, McMinn, and Rhea counties, which are all contiguous to the Credit Union’s current 16 county charter area. With the merger, ORNL FCU will also acquire the two MET CCU branches which will soon re-branded to reflect the ORNL FCU brand. Current MET CCU employees will also be retained.
After system conversions in August, current MET CCU members will have access to the full suite of mortgage and consumer loan products, deposit products, and digital services ORNL FCU offers. They will also have access to over 30,000 fee-free ATMs nationwide, as well as the 28 ORNL FCU branch offices located in East Tennessee.
ORNL Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative locally owned and operated by its members for the benefit of all who belong. Established in 1948 with 10 founding members, ORNL Federal Credit Union’s assets have grown to over $2.5 billion and membership has grown to over 175,000. Membership is open to businesses and anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in the 19 counties of East Tennessee.
