Y-12 Deputy General Manager Bill Klemm has been elected to the Energy Facility Contractor Group (EFCOG) Board of Directors. Klemm, a retired U.S. Navy Admiral, is the sites senior representative to the EFCOG board.
EFCOG is a Department of Energy supported volunteer organization directed by senior level executives and subject matter experts from major DOE contractor companies and sustained by working-level personnel from member contractors.
EFCOG objectives are to promote, coordinate and facilitate the active exchange of successful programs, practices, procedures, lessons learned, and other pertinent information of common interest that have been effectively utilized by DOE contractors.
The organization is composed of 13 working groups that range from safety and security to infrastructure management. More than 65 DOE contractor companies supply personnel for these working groups.
Klemm said his vision “is that B&W Y-12 will actively support and participate in each of the working groups and assume leadership roles as opportunities are available. Our objective is to have at least two members in each of the 13 working groups and to have others attend and participate as needed to support special focus areas. I believe EFCOG is important for Y-12 and for the nuclear security enterprise.”
