Brigadier General Sandra E. Finan has been selected for the top military position at the National Nuclear Security Administration.
Brigadier General Sandra E. Finan has been selected for the top military position at the National Nuclear Security Administration, where she’ll replace Brigadier General Garrett Harencak in January. Finan currently is Inspector General for the Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
According to NNSA spokesman Damien LaVera, Harencak’s last day at the nuclear defense agency will be Jan. 13.
In her new assignment, Finan will be principal assistant deputy administrator for military application at NNSA.
Finan was promoted to brigadier general earlier this year. She entered the Air Force in 1982 as an enlisted cryptographic equipment repairperson, according to her military bio.
Among her many assignments was director, nuclear operations, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado.
