The U.S. Department of Energy has extended its contract with Swift & Staley Inc. for their work at the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant.
Swift & Staley Inc. had a three-year contract for Infrastructure Support Services at the plant that ends November 30. On November 29, the DOE announced the extension, saying they found the most cost-effective and best option was to continue uninterrupted services along with continuing momentum on projects and workforce stability.
The extension lasts for 22 months and costs $88 million.
