Dave Beck will be responsible for leading the Y-12 National Security Complex’s integrated site-wide initiative to assess and improve the creation and delivery of products and services.
OAK RIDGE – B&W Y-12 has hired Dave Beck as vice president of Productivity. He will be responsible for leading the Y-12 National Security Complex’s integrated site-wide initiative to assess and improve the creation and delivery of products and services.
Beck worked at Y-12 for 22 years in a variety of roles including director of Manufacturing Technology Services, leaving in 1999 to go to work for the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C. There he served as deputy assistant administrator for Military Applications and Stockpile Operations for DOE’s National Nuclear Security Administration, where he provided oversight for the nation’s nuclear weapons programs and NNSA manufacturing operations.
“We’re excited about having Dave Beck return to Y-12 to continue our commitment to productivity improvement,” said Darrel Kohlhorst, president and general manager of B&W Y 12, which manages the site for NNSA. “Dave’s background at Y-12, his experience as a federal official and his tenure at Los Alamos give him a unique set of skills that will help to ensure that our performance continues to be outstanding.”
