B&W Y-12 President and General Manager Chuck Spencer has named Linda Bauer as vice president of Facilities, Infrastructure and Services (FI&S).

Y12_red_LogoB&W Y-12 President and General Manager Chuck Spencer has named Linda Bauer as vice president of Facilities, Infrastructure and Services (FI&S).

Bauer most recently served as senior vice president with Los Alamos Technical Associates, Inc. helping direct large-scale government and private endeavors, such as the Portsmouth Environmental Restoration Project and the Depleted Uranium Hexafluoride Conversion Project.

With 24 years of experience, she also has held positions such as senior operations manager for the Babcock and Wilcox Technical Services Group and multiple management roles at BWXT Savannah River Company.

“B&W Y-12 is fortunate to have someone with Linda’s experience and leadership join our team,” said Spencer. “Our ability to effectively complete facilities and maintenance work is critical to both our daily and long-term success. Linda has my full confidence as she leads her team in keeping Y-12 running in a safe, secure and compliant manner.”

Bauer holds a bachelor of science in chemistry from Memphis State University, a master’s degree in health physics and a doctorate in environmental health physics from Purdue University.

Former FI&S Vice President Steve Little will serve as senior director and deputy to the vice president of FI&S.

Scott Underwood, who was serving as deputy to the vice president of FI&S, will continue to support the organization working on special assignment with the Uranium Processing Facility project.
