Why Be A Part of ETEC?
The East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC) provides the opportunity to collaborate with great organizations and companies for the benefit of your business and to contribute to the economic growth of the community. We are an independent, nonprofit, membership organization.
ETEC's mission is to actively champion and harness federal resources in East Tennessee to strengthen national science, security, energy, education, and environmental missions, by fostering regional strategic partnerships and creating economic growth.
We accomplish this by convening and connecting our members and educating our elected officials. We work in strong partnership with federal contractors, Department of Energy and National Nuclear Security Administration representatives, state officials, small businesses, educational institutions, and local economic development entities.
The ETEC membership is made up of local and regional businessmen and women, who are executive level leaders in a wide variety of fields: national security, science, banking, manufacturing, medical technology, communications, information technologies, construction, architectural, engineering, education, environmental and other technical fields. We also have student members from local colleges and universities, as well as retirees. Their interest is in not only data which might benefit their business, but perspectives on projects, programs, or innovative ventures which will affect the future of the community.
Annual investments support weekly membership programs, host visits by national leaders and congressional delegations, and facilitate other activities designed to showcase emerging opportunities within the East Tennessee economy. Business memberships are based on the number of employees. There is no limit on the number of guests that members can invite to ETEC membership meetings.
