September 21, 2015 @ 9:30 am - September 24, 2015 @ 2:30 pm
The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services is offering informational courses to help potential suppliers prepare for regional projects such as the Uranium Processing Facility.
The UPF Supply Chain Collaboration Forum is scheduled for Sept. 21-24 at the New Hope Center in Oak Ridge.
Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC, is partnering with the University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services, Gilmartin Engineering Works, the Tennessee Small Business Development Center, Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce, and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development to help educate local, regional and national businesses about performing work for the Uranium Processing Facility being built at the Y-12 National Security Complex.
The four-day event will take place at Y-12’s New Hope Center, and is designed to help educate businesses about becoming qualified vendors for the $6.5 billion UPF project. During presentations and breakout sessions, the event will include information on how to become a UPF supplier as well as dealing with government contracting regulations and meeting the rigid standards associated with nuclear construction.
In addition to informational courses designed to prepare companies to become suppliers to UPF, the forum features an overview of UPF procurements, breakout sessions, a tour of Y-12 and the UPF site, and opportunities to network with other potential suppliers.
