A Community Reception to Meet and Welcome the Tennessee Historical Commission to Oak Ridge.
You are invited to a reception for the Tennessee Historical Commission on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 6:00-7:00 pm, at Ts117 Modern Coworking, 701 Scarboro Road, Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
The Tennessee Historical Commission is holding its first-ever meeting in Oak Ridge on Friday, October 18, 2019.
The Commission, appointed by the Governor, consists of 24 commissioners from across all regions of Tennessee. The Commission also includes Patrick McIntyre, the State Historic Preservation Officer and several specialists in historic preservation on his staff.
They will spend the afternoon on Thursday, October 17, 2019, touring many of Oak Ridge’s historic sites including the Y-12 National Security Complex, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, East Tennessee Technical Park, the Manhattan Project National Historical Park, the American Museum of Science and Energy, the Oak Ridge History Museum, the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge, and the Alexander Guest House before arriving at the Reception.

Food and drinks will be provided as well as tours of the new coworking space Ts117. A special presentation will also be given.
