The East Tennessee Economic Council (ETEC) and the U.S. Nuclear Infrastructure Council (USNIC) will host a Nuclear Suppliers Workshop on September 6¬-7, 2017 at the Pollard Technology Conference Center in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
The focus of the event will be on manufacturing opportunities that are arising in the Southeastern United States around small modular reactors, next generation nuclear technology, nuclear medicine, and national security programs.
Invited speakers include senior executives from the Tennessee Valley Authority, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, NuScale Power, Teledyne Brown Engineering, Terrestrial Energy, University of Tennessee, Duke Energy and others. The final agenda is still under development.
Manufacturing companies interested in supporting existing nuclear facilities and upcoming nuclear construction projects in the Southeastern U.S. are invited to participate. Sessions will be conducted by nationally recognized speakers representing various components of the nuclear industry geared toward strengthening the nation’s nuclear manufacturing supply chain. Session topics will include workforce and training, certification programs, and the global marketplace.
The two-day workshop will include an evening reception for attendees and business/community leaders, and optional tours of Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Y-12 National Security Complex, or the ORNL Manufacturing Demonstration Facility (MDF).
Workshop Organizing Committee Members include representatives from: Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Centrus Energy, Teledyne Brown Engineering, AECOM, ORAU, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), University of Tennessee, MS Technology/MillenniTEK, and Consolidated Nuclear Security (CNS Y-12).
