April 22, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Source: NPS | Release | April 15, 2021
The National Park Service (NPS) wants to hear from the public as we prepare an interpretive plan for future programming, exhibits, and media at Manhattan Project National Historical Park (Manhattan Project NHP) that will capture a wide array of experiences and perspectives.
Manhattan Project NHP is initiating a stakeholder engagement process as part of the interpretive planning process for the park. Engagement sessions will be organized both by theme and by region, with the latter focused on the regions surrounding the three Manhattan Project NHP locations – Hanford, WA; Los Alamos, NM; and Oak Ridge, TN. Due to ongoing public health restrictions associated with COVID-19, all events will be held virtually.
The NPS is hosting public meetings in each of the park’s communities April 20-22, 2021. Meeting schedule and registration information is as follows:
Hanford Community Meeting, Tuesday, April 20, 5:30 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time. Individuals interested in attending can register at the following link: Hanford Community Meeting

Formally established in November 2015 via a Memorandum of Agreement between the Department of Energy and the National Park Service to preserve portions of three World War II sites where the United States developed the first atomic weapons, the park marks the history of the people, science, events, and controversy associated with the creation of the atomic bomb in the top-secret effort known as the Manhattan Project. Under the agreement, the NPS and DOE jointly manage and administer the park.
