House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus Event – September 30
“Procurement Policy: Aligning Priorities for Success”
You, or a representative of your company, are invited to attend a Nuclear Cleanup Caucus panel discussion and reception sponsored by the Energy Facility Contractors Group, (EFCOG), the Energy Technology and Environmental Business Association, (ETEBA), and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).
Our special guests will be Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, Caucus Chairman, Rep. Ben Lujan, Co-Chairman, and members of the Nuclear Cleanup Caucus of the U. S. House of Representatives.
Greg Meyer, Senior VP for Government Operations, FluorThe Department of Energy relies on a broad array of contractors to safely clean up legacy sites resulting from more than five decades of nuclear materials and weapons development, and government-sponsored nuclear technology research. It is critical that the department work in concert with industry and host communities to identify and overcome barriers to the effective execution of its objectives: reducing risk and successfully planning, building and operating large, often first-of-a-kind, projects and facilities. Although DOE has made improvements, more progress can be made by encouraging robust competition from qualified firms through a transparent process that provides an appropriate balance of risk and reward and aligns contractor and taxpayer interests.
The theme of this meeting is “Procurement Policy: Aligning Priorities for Success.” Gerald Boyd, Stoller Newport News Nuclear (SN3), will moderate the discussion among the panelists:
- Steve Young, Mayor, City of Kennewick
- Monica Regalbuto, Assistant Secretary of Energy for Environmental Management, U.S. Department of Energy
To ensure adequate space, please RSVP as soon as possible but no later than September 23 to Christina Baworowsky, Nuclear Energy Institute.
This is a widely attended event.
We look forward to your participation and hope to see you there.
