Alan L. Hill
Regional Director, External & Legislative Affairs
Alan Hill currently holds the position of Regional Director, External & Legislative Affairs for AT&T Tennessee. Based out of Knoxville, he is responsible for public and government relations activities for 50 counties in East/Middle Tennessee.
Alan is a native of Athens, TN, a graduate of Bearden High, and the University of TN. He has been involved for 39+ years in the Telecommunications/Information Technology field with various positions in sales, consulting, sales management, and government relations. He has a collective tenure with AT&T/BellSouth for 34 of those years. He had experience running his own consulting business for 5 ½ years so he is familiar with the small business environment as well as large corporations. He had the privilege of being one of the founders and the first Executive Director of a non-profit entity, East Tennessee Health Information Network, where he helped start the health information exchange for electronic health records. Alan is a member of the Knoxville Rotary Club, serves on the Board of Directors of the Sevier County Economic Development Council, Knoxville Area Urban League, East TN Economic Development Agency, The Fort Sanders Foundation, a former board member of the Knoxville Chamber, a former member of UT Knoxville Chancellor’s Associates, and a member of Immanuel Church. He and his wife Linda, of 37 years have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys landscaping, family outings, golf, and Tennessee Athletics.
