ETEC Nuclear Working Group Meeting – Featuring GAIN
March 23 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
ETEC invites all members who work in or are interested in working with the nuclear industry to the next ETEC Nuclear Working Group meeting on Wednesday, March 23, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the UT Outreach Center.
Special guests at this meeting will be representatives from the DOE’s GAIN Program. They are in the region for a few days talking to companies. This meeting may be offered in a hybrid format. If you are planning to attend, please RSVP to Nicole.
GAIN stands for Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear and provides the nuclear energy community with access to the technical, regulatory, and financial support necessary to move new or advanced nuclear reactor designs toward commercialization while ensuring the continued safe, reliable, and economic operation of the existing nuclear fleet.
GAIN provides the nuclear community with a single point of access to the broad range of capabilities – people, facilities, materials, and data – across the DOE complex and its National Lab capabilities. Focused research opportunities and dedicated industry engagement are important components of GAIN, ensuring that DOE-sponsored activities are impactful to companies working to realize the full potential of nuclear energy.
DOE published the Nuclear Energy Infrastructure database (NEID) to provide a catalogue of existing nuclear energy related infrastructure that enhances transparency and supports nuclear community engagement through GAIN. For more information about GAIN visit: https://gain.inl.gov/SitePages/Home.aspx.
