ETEC Meeting: Dennis Hopkins, DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee

  • Graduated in 1976 from Kettering University (formerly General Motors Institute) w/ BSEE degree
  • Worked in automotive industry for two ‘Tier 1’ automotive OEM companies


o   1971-1976: Co-op w/ Delco Remy Division of General Motors Corporation in Anderson, IN


o   1976-1989: Employed w/ Delco Remy Division holding various jobs in Test Engineering (Design of automated inspection equipment), Quality Engineering in  various manufacturing divisions, and in Product Design Engineering Section for Sensors


o   1989-Present: Employed w/ Denso Mfg Tennessee in Maryville, TN, currently in charge for Education & Development and Quality Planning for NA Denso.  Scope includes technical, systems, and management/leadership training for our members.  Previous experience has been Vice President of our Machinery & Tools Division, responsible for designing and building automated manufacturing & inspection equipment and dies for NA Denso Mfg Affiliates.   Prior to above, was Vice President of Starter/Alternator Mfg Division responsible for production, quality, and production control sections.
