Randal Dabbs, M.D.

Dr. Randal Dabbs was a co-founder of Southeastern Emergency Physicians, the predecessor to TeamHealth, and served as president and chief medical officer of the largest affiliate of TeamHealth for 15+ years. Dr. Dabbs brings all of his knowledge and experience to the table as the president of practice development. In this role, he creates and deploys many national programs that enhance the practice of medicine at TeamHealth facilities across all services lines throughout the country, including:
• clinician orientation, onboarding and retention
• community paramedicine
• the advanced practice clinician council
• simulation training
• the elite special operations emergency medicine team
Dr. Dabbs is ABEM and ABFM certified and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in family medicine at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, where he later held the position of chief of emergency services from 1982 to 1999. He has also been a standing member of the Claims Committee throughout its existence. Dr. Dabbs is passionate about and regularly lectures on risk management topics, leadership development, and improving the provider and patient experience.
