Mr. William A. Malkes, also known as Bill, is Co-founder of GRIDSMART Technologies, Inc. and serves as its Chief Executive Officer.

Bill is a long time business partner of Vig Sherrill and also a serial entrepreneur. Bill began his career as a CPA at the international accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick in Detroit, Michigan, where he gained experience working with venture-backed enterprises. As Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Health Care Solutions, Bill oversaw more than 13 acquisitions and subsequent integrations of other companies while raising more than $100 million in financing. He served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of ASIC International prior to its acquisition by Flextronics and a principal in Healthspex, a biotechnology company. Bill was responsible for Emerging Market Development for Sirit Corp., after Sirit acquired Trade Winds.

Bill holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Detroit-Mercy.
