Andy Page is president and CEO of Oak Ridge Associated Universities and director of the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education. He provides strategic direction and leadership for ORAU’s six major programs as well as directing the organization’s business operations.

Page serves as ORAU’s primary representative to the Department of Energy and works closely with other government agencies and the academic community to further ORAU’s partnership initiatives. Since his appointment as president in May 2009, Page has exemplified ORAU’s pursuit of performance, quality and integrity.

Before becoming president, Page was vice president and director of ORAU’s National Security and Emergency Management Program, supporting the DOE/National Nuclear Security Administration Office of Emergency Response. He has also managed ORAU’s counterterrorism readiness programs for other government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Department of State, as well as the Bureau of Reclamation’s National Critical Infrastructure Dam Program, and the State of California’s Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program. Page was a certified member of both the DOE/NNSA Nuclear Incident Team and the Senior Energy Official Incident Management Team.

Prior to joining ORAU in 1999, Page served nearly 25 years with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a commanding officer in the Marine Corps Fleet Marine and Security Forces, served as deputy branch head of amphibious ships and programs at the Pentagon, and served in high level staff assignments at the Headquarters Marine Corps in Washington, D.C. He was one of only 11 senior-grade officers chosen to represent the Marines at the National Defense University’s Industrial College of the Armed Forces, a prestigious senior service school that provides graduate level education to senior members of the armed forces.

Page holds a master’s degree in management from Webster University, a master’s in education from Old Dominion University, a master’s in national resource strategy from the National Defense University, and a bachelor’s degree in history from The Citadel. He serves on the board of directors for the East Tennessee Economic Council, the Tennessee Valley Corridor, and the Oak Ridge Public Schools Education Foundation and is a member of the UT-Battelle Board of Governors.

Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) is a university consortium leveraging the scientific strength of 115 major research institutions to advance science and education by partnering with national laboratories, government agencies, and private industry. ORAU manages the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education for the U.S. Department of Energy.
