DOE OREM: Open House/Poster Session for EMDF Project

After much work and coordination with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, DOE’s Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management (OREM) is excited to share that the three parties recently signed the final Record of Decision (ROD) for the Environmental Management Disposal Facility (EMDF) project.
OREM knows there is a high level of interest in this important project, and they remain committed to the promise of keeping the community informed about any new developments or details. That is why OREM is hosting an open house poster session on Thursday, December 8, 2022, from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Scarboro Community Center. The address for that venue is 148 Carver Avenue, Oak Ridge, TN 37831.
In addition to the information shared on these posters, they will also have top subject matter experts from their team on hand to discuss updates and personally answer any questions.
The information shared during this event will focus on:
- Where DOE is in the planning process
- Site preparation activities
- Information about the Field Demonstration Project
- Anticipated timeline for construction
- Future work enabled by EMDF
