C hairman Furukawa will provide the second lecture in this series named in honor of the late Ambassador and Senator Howard Baker and offered in partnership with the Consulate General of Japan and Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Furukawa has an illustrious career, as an engineer, CEO of Hitachi and presently leading NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization), one of the largest public research and development organizations in Japan. NEDO has undertaken various activities on hydrogen-related technologies and standardization, such as fuel cells, fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen power generation, for more than 30 years. The Japanese government has formulated a strategy and developed a road map to realize a hydrogen society.
