AMSE: Ribbon Cutting for James Webb Telescope Sculpture Opening

The American Museum of Science and Energy Foundation (AMSEF) is excited to invite guests to join us on January 27th, 2023, to celebrate an addition to our permanent exhibit at the American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE) in Oak Ridge focusing on the amazing James Webb Space Telescope (JWST). This exhibit, created by our Director of Exhibits and Collections, Quinn Argall, also features a fascinating kiosk supplied by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

 

Our new exhibit features a large representation of of the gold plated, beryllium mirror array atop the JWST. Guests will also be presented with interactive displays which include “Sounds of the Universe” and the new “Scents of Space” Yes, you’ll have a chance to take a big ‘ol whiff of the inky expanse beyond our atmosphere.

The public is invited to join us for this ribbon cutting ceremony.

 

What:
AMSEF, partnering with the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce, will celebrate the introduction of the James Webb Space Telescope exhibit paired with new and redesigned interactives in the AMSE permanent gallery.
