ETQG: 3rd Plain Talk Conference on Quality Growth
April 28, 2016 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
East Tennessee Quality Growth (ETQG) will host:
3rd Plain Talk Conference on Quality Growth
a one-day conference at the Airport Hilton in Alcoa, Tennessee.
ETQG is a citizen-led organization, directed by citizen leaders in 16 East Tennessee counties. The organization collaborates with the counties on initiatives to enhance the region’s future prosperity and quality of life.
ETQG Executive Director Julie Graham explains the reason for the conference: “The East Tennessee region is growing and thriving, and the area is now on-track to receive thousands of new people moving here to enjoy our region’s great communities and natural beauty. The challenge facing us is that of ‘growing the region’ while holding onto what makes us great – and, in particular, finding ways to preserve the uniqueness of smaller communities.”
Geared toward elected and planning officials, development. and banking professionals, rising or current community leaders, and citizens interested in the future of their region, the Plain Talk Conference focuses on the “power of connection” among regional communities to meet the challenges and opportunities of the inevitable growth in East Tennessee.
Prominent local, state and national speakers will offer success stories from communities that are prospering by investing in healthy and livable communities, using new approaches to infrastructure, land use, and transportation, and connecting rural and urban communities with broadband technology.
The conference registration includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Register now online at https://tinyurl.com/PlainTalk2016. Early registration, available before April 18, is $60. After April 18, the registration rate is $75.
