1st Industry Symposium: “Accelerating Operational Excellence”

This is an invitation to our first Industry Symposium, which is an initiative from the Center for Advanced Systems Research and Education (CASRE) at the University of Tennessee, with aims to expand collaboration and create the most important gathering of Operational Excellence professionals around the region. The event is entitled: “Accelerating Operational Excellence”, where the main topic to be addressed is operational models in different contexts and unique successful practices. Please share the opportunity with your contacts.
The event will take place on Friday, October 6th at John D. Tickle Building, 4th floor (room 405) which is located at 851 Neyland Dr., Knoxville, TN 37996. Lunch is included, and parking will be reserved on-site for all attendees.

Each presenter will be sharing their best practices from their respective organization, challenges faced and how they had approached them with success:
- Tony Thornburgh’s focus is in the continuous manufacturing process and their transition from provider of raw materials (as Alcoa) to O.E.M.
- Isaac Mitchell will focus in the redesign of their operations for the construction of their new facilities.
- Craig Stevens will talk about The Change Management (CM) Umbrella and how it represents a systems approach to change management, helping to drive operational excellence in Healthcare (and other Service Organizations).
- Michael Headrick will share his personal journey through the Toyota Production System, and the soft (people’s) attributes that could work both as drivers or barriers for successful implementation.
