Hands-Free: Wireless Charging System Advances Electric Vehicle Convenience
ORNL scientists have for several years now steadily advanced a wireless charging technology that can make powering an EV just as easy, or easier, than filling a car with gas. Researchers are now nearing the completion of a system to charge EVs while in motion.

Experimental Reactor Prepared for Deactivation, Demolition
EM crews are preparing to deactivate the former Experimental Gas-Cooled Reactor ORNL before removing the contaminated facility and opening the DOE land for reuse. The EGCR is one of 16 inactive research reactor and isotope facilities EM is addressing at ORNL.

USNC announces that its Micro Modular Reactor™ (MMR™) is the first and only small modular reactor to enter the formal licensing review phase with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission as part of the Global First Power (GFP) MMR Project. GFP will build, own, and operate the proposed MMR Project at the Chalk River Laboratories site.

NNSA Production Office Manager Geoffrey Beausoleil— “the French Cowboy from Connecticut”— Hangs Up His Spurs
After taking a deep breath to appreciate the achievements of his team and consider his next steps, NPO Manager Geoff Beausoleil retired on April 30. As manager, Beausoleil was responsible for the overall administration of the M&O contract for Pantex and Y-12, the day-to-day administration of the NPO, and oversight of plant operations.

Oak Ridge City Manager Inducted as 'UT MPPA Fellow in Professional Practice'
Dr. Mark Watson was recognized this month and inducted as a University of Tennessee Masters in Public Policy and Administration Fellow in Professional Practice. The purpose of the award is to recognize in a formal, public way, the contributions that distinguished practitioners make to the advanced professional education and training of UT MPPA students.
