TVA Seeks Public Input on Bull Run Ash Storage
TVA is proposing changes to plans for closure of a coal ash storage area and wastewater treatment at its Bull Run Fossil Plant in Claxton. TVA is asking the public to comment on those revisions in a draft supplemental environmental assessment issued on April 22. Comments will be accepted through May 13.

AHF Launches ‘Oak Ridge Innovations’ Program
The Atomic Heritage Foundation has launched a new online interpretive program, “Oak Ridge Innovations,” to explore Oak Ridge’s legacies for science and society today. The program includes more than 30 video vignettes describing ORNL’s history and current research.

Battelle Exec Recognized for National Lab Mgmt
Ron Townsend, executive vice president of laboratory operations at Battelle, received the CEO Award during the Annual Celebration of Solvers Event for his leadership at national laboratories sponsored by DOE and Homeland Security.

Safety Fest TN to host Panel on Workforce Development
The opening session for Safety Fest TN this year will feature a panel on regional workforce development.The kick-off event will include a discussion by influential educators and employers on regional workforce development challenges. The session is from 8:30-11 a.m., April 30, at the New Hope Center at Y-12 National Security Complex

Legacy Parks Joint Project for Oak Ridge Natural Assets Plan
Legacy Parks Foundation has announced a collaborative project encompassing Oak Ridge, Roane County and Anderson County that will create a Natural Assets Plan for Oak Ridge and the surrounding areas by exploring both recreational opportunities and enhancement of the area’s natural assets.

Cange Joins Oak Ridge-based Environmental Firm as Vice President
A past Muddy Boot Award winner who has spent two years at Vanderbilt University as a visiting scholar from DOE is now vice president of environmental and regulatory services at Navarro Research and Engineering. Sue Cange will manage their strategic environmental and regulatory opportunities, as well provide executive contract support and oversight.
