Y-12's 'Introduce a Girl to Engineering 2019' Opens Possibilities for Local Students
For hundreds of area middle and high school girls unsure of what engineering means, a world of career possibilities was opened for them. Y-12 hosted 400 girls from 25 schools in seven counties at the New Hope Center. Nearly two dozen exhibits brought to life the fields of chemical, mechanical, electrical, industrial, nuclear and fire protection engineering.

800 People Attend DOE-Supported STEM Night at Oak Ridge School
Nearly 20 employees from DOE’s offices of EM and Science supported a local middle school’s first science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) night, which attracted more than 800 students and their family members. Jefferson Middle School’s recent event provided the students and families the opportunity to learn and have fun.
