Contempt Charges Brewing Over Solyndra?

Republicans say the White House has not been forthcoming enough with documents in response to November’s subpoena for all internal communication about Solyndra.

Keyboard_with_Email_Icon_SmallHouse Republicans insisted they haven’t yet decided whether to set up an explosive confrontation with the White House by seeking contempt charges over the response to a subpoena for internal communication about Solyndra.

“Everything is on the table,” Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.), a top member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the GOP point man in the probe of federal aid to the failed California solar panel manufacturer, told reporters. “I think a lot of us are going to get together and just try to understand what is our options and if the White House is going to help us or not.”

White House officials say they have been responsive to Republicans seeking documents. A White House spokesman slammed the GOP’s Solyndra probe in the wake of Stearns’ comment, calling it a political ploy.
