ORAU kicks off new $129.7 million contract to manage NASA Postdoctoral Program with new website for fellowships

Oak Ridge, Tenn.—ORAU assumed management of a $129.7 million contract for the NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) on Jan. 30 with a new website for available fellowships. Both early-career and senior scientists are invited to explore these fellowship opportunities and share in NASA’s mission to develop advancements in science, technology, aeronautics and space exploration. The first round of upcoming application deadlines for these fellowships is March 1.

Verizon Awarded $34.6M in Digital Modernization Contracts with DOE

Verizon Public Sector has been awarded $34.6 million through two contract awards with DOE. The task orders were awarded through the federal government’s Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) contract vehicle. The contracts include voice and data services and will involve a number of DOE facilities.

NNSA Awards Management and Operations Contract for Y-12, Pantex

DOE’s NNSA announced it has selected Nuclear Production One, LLC (NPOne) for the Management and Operating (M&O) contract for the Y-12 National Security Complex and Pantex Plant, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and Amarillo, Texas, respectively. NPOne is a limited liability company, which consists of Fluor Federal Services, Inc. and AECOM Energy & Construction (an Amentum company). 

Oklo Teams with Centrus to Produce U.S.-based Fuel Supply

Oklo Inc. and Centrus Energy Corp. have signed a non-binding Letter of Intent to cooperate in the deployment of a High-Assay, Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU) production facility. HALEU is an advanced fuel material that can be used to fuel both existing and advanced fission power plants.

Oak Ridge Achieves EM Priorities for 2021

DOE’s Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management OREM completed the ambitious goals laid out for the site in EM’s 2021 priorities. OREM had three entries in EM’s 2021 priorities. They include completing demolition of the Biology Complex, transferring property at East Tennessee Technology Park (ETTP) to the community, and awarding the Oak Ridge Reservation Cleanup Contract.

DOE Awards Oak Ridge Reservation Cleanup Contract

DOE’s Office of Environmental Management awarded United Cleanup Oak Ridge LLC (UCOR) of Germantown, MD, the Oak Ridge Reservation Cleanup Contract (ORRCC) at the Oak Ridge Reservation.

DOE Awards Portsmouth Infrastructure Support Services Contract

DOE’s Office of Environmental Management awarded the Portsmouth Infrastructure Support Services contract to North Wind Dynamics, LLC, a small business from Idaho Falls, Idaho. DOE determined that NWD’s proposal provides the best value to the Government considering Technical Approach, Key Personnel and Organization; Past Performance, and Price. DOE received four proposals.
