U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm visited Oak Ridge early this week. She began her day discussing DOE's special relationship with the Oak Ridge community and then toured ORNL's GRID-C facility and spoke about the infrastructure bill and the Build Back Better agenda.

ORNL has released the federal government’s new 2022 Fuel Economy Guide. The report provides the latest fuel efficiency stats and money-saving tips for new and used vehicles. For the first time, two electric vehicles with a 500-mile driving range sit at the top of the guide’s 10 most fuel-efficient vehicles.

In the 12 months ended Sept. 30, the Tennessee Valley Authority worked with state and local governments and chambers of commerce to recruit 270 major business projects with plans to collectively invest more than $8.8 billion in new plants, offices, and equipment. The new and expanding businesses will create nearly 81,000 jobs in the Tennessee Valley — the highest number logged in a single year by TVA's economic development department.
