A good friend and longtime associate of ETEC passed away last week. Jesse Mae Noritake was the core of the old Roane Anderson Economic Council and was the first hire president Jim Campbell made when he joined ETEC over 20 years ago. As Jim Campbell said, "She knew how to make things work, always with a smile."

OR Environ. Mgmt. Prepares Next Batch of Buildings for Demolition

OREM is preparing the next wave of buildings for demolition at the Y-12 National Security Complex as part of a new chapter of cleanup in Oak Ridge. The massive cleanup at Y-12 is happening simultaneously with other cleanup projects underway at ORNL, where crews are addressing 16 inactive research reactor and isotope facilities.

Y-12 Training Center to Teach First Responders to Work Nuclear Emergencies

The land passersby see cleared in west Oak Ridge near the Oak Ridge Turnpike will soon host a training center for first responders, including those responding to nuclear emergencies. The buildings will include classrooms, augmented and virtual reality and simulated training.

UT's Baker Center Hires First Director of Policy Partnerships

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy announced that Bill Lyons will join the center’s staff as the inaugural director of policy partnerships. A professor emeritus of political science at UT, Lyons will begin in his new role September 20.
