In 1972 there were nearly 290,000 public gasoline stations serving 106 million vehicles nationwide. In 2019 there are only 142,000 stations serving more than 276 million vehicles.

NRC to Issue Early Site Permit for TVA Clinch River Site

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has authorized the issuance of an Early Site Permit for Tennessee Valley Authority’s Clinch River site near Oak Ridge, Tenn. The permit closes several site related issues, including many environmental impacts, for small modular reactors at the site.

Dr. Jess Wade, a research associate at Imperial College London, wrote around 820 biographies for the online encyclopaedia. Her mission was to raise awareness of women who have made a significant contribution to STEM fields. But an editor of the website flagged 50 as not being prominent enough to justify them remaining online.
