ORNL, DOE Unveil New Capabilities
ORNL and DOE officials dedicated the launch of two clean energy research initiatives that focus on the recycling and recovery of advanced manufacturing materials and on connected and autonomous vehicle technologies.

Environmental Study on Airport OK’d
The city of Oak Ridge took another step toward a new general aviation airport in west Oak Ridge, authorizing an agreement with a contractor for an environmental study. The land for the proposed airport is near the former site of the K-25 building.

Kazakhstan, U.S. to Eliminate HEU
The U.S. DOE NNSA and Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy worked together to remove 2.9 kilograms of unirradiated HEU from the IGR research reactor, transport it hundreds of miles to a secure facility for processing, and downblend it to low enriched uranium.
