Content will include an update from Dr. Thomas Zacharia, director of the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. We will also hear from Oak Ridge’s newest company, GIGA Data Centers.

We will use the Zoom Conferencing platform in its normal format. Attendees will be visible unless they choose to turn off their video.

Please Note: Your video camera and microphone will be active when you enter the meeting. You can choose to turn off your camera and microphone once you are in the "room". In order to allow for attendees to interact, the Zoom session will be open from 7:15 a.m. – 8:45 a.m.

The legislation fully and permanently funds the Land and Water Conservation Fund, a goal of Congress since it was first passed in 1964. China and the United States are locked in a contest to develop the world's most powerful computers. Now a massive machine in Japan has topped them both. The machine is dubbed Fugaku and is installed in the city of Kobe by the government-sponsored institute Riken.

Workers Successfully Bring Down ETTP’s Tallest Building

Using massive winches, workers successfully pulled down the tallest section of the Centrifuge complex at East Tennessee Technology Park. Removal of the 180-ft tower marks a major landscape change as work continues to complete demolition later this summer.

SNC-Lavalin's Isotek Systems, LLC and DOE have signed a contract modification to perform processing operations to disposition Uranium-233 material through 2024 on the U-233 Disposition Project located at ORNL.

DOE's ORNL has launched a program designed to accelerate deployment of innovations to help fight the pandemic. The COVID-19 Rapid Access Licensing Program will allow companies to license these select technologies at no cost for one year.

Nuclear reactor and fuel engineering company X-energy announced it will receive $6 million in funding from DOE's ARPA-E Program. The funding will go towards developing the company’s Xe-100 reactor.
